Hello and welcome to Neverkin! I'm Maija - the founder and solo dev behind this app, as well as a mermaid, musician and a dungeon master. Neverkin has been my hobby project since early 2022, and I'm happy to finally share it with you!
I take maintainability, architecture and security seriously, and Neverkin is optimized for long-term maintenance and development experience. I have even built a little custom framework to support it!
If you encounter issues or have ideas for new features, please don't hesitate to reach out or submit a pull request! Contributions are very welcome, and if you're a dev, you should be able to get a local dev environment up and running in a single command.

Is Neverkin really free?
Yes! Neverkin is open source under the GPL-3.0 license. You can use the hosted version for free, or self-host it on your own server. There are no premium paywalls or feature gates.
Can I use custom calendars for my fictional world?
Absolutely. Any calendar system is supported — you define the months, days, hours, and epochs. Neverkin also ships with presets for Earth, Pathfinder 2e, Rimworld, and others as common starting points, but these are not special cases — the system is fully flexible.
How does real-time collaboration work?
When you invite collaborators to your world, they can view or edit based on the permissions you set. All changes sync instantly via WebSockets — every connected user sees updates in real-time.
Can I keep parts of my world private?
All your data is private by default — nothing is visible to anyone unless you explicitly share it. You can invite collaborators with read-only or editing access, or make a world publicly visible if you choose.
Is my data safe? Can I export it?
Your data is stored securely. Since Neverkin is open source, you can also self-host and maintain full control.
